Long Life Battery Of Boston Power Offered by HP

Each traveller limited in time would not like to spend it near an outlet to charge his laptop battery. To improve the lives both of a battery and of a customer Hewlett-Packard is introducing into the market the innovated Sonata battery, which has been developed for three years by Boston Power. HP will soon rebrand it as the Enviro battery and offer for some separated units.

Boston-Power’s Battery for HP Notebooks

It will take only 30 minutes to charge the battery to 80%. The number of charges before the battery’s exhaustion is 1000 instead of common 300. A user can charge the battery each day and stand with it for as much as three years, and even four years, if to charge only on weekdays. This battery will appear firstly in the USA and Canada and then it is planned to be distributed in other markets. HP has been working together with Boston Power for three years and now it is its first major customer.

Christina Lampe-Onnerud, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Boston-Power,Hp laptop battery,IBM ThinkPad T21 Battery believes that Hewlett-Packard will acquire a lot of customers and will not stop its activity at this point of achievement, breaking into some other electronic industries. She says of the mentioned innovation:

“It brings a new level of performance to the market”.

Hewlett-Packard guarantees the Enviro battery 3-year life at sum extra price. In early 2009 the product will be already seen and tested by the customers of the company

Sony Recalls 440000 Notebook Computers

Sony Inc. said the recall involves 19 models in the Sony Vaio TZ series manufactured between May 2007 and July 2008. Two years ago,IBM Laptop Battery, several computer makers were forced to recall almost 10 million notebook batteries made by Sony because of possible overheating.ThinkPad Z60t, laptop battery ThinkPad Z61t, 40Y6793, FRU 92P1125, FRU 92P1121 That recall cost Sony about $430 million

Sony said that over 400 devices had been affected worldwide. Five people suffered minor burns in Japan and one each in the US and Italy.

It said that 373,000 of the notebooks were sold in 48 countries, including the USA, and the remaining 67,000 in Japan.

“Sony takes the quality of the products its sells very seriously and makes every effort to ensure that the products it develops meet all relevant regulations and standards. We sincerely apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.”

In 2006, Apple, ThinkPad Z61t, Dell, IBM/Lenovo and Toshiba were among several major notebook manufacturers which recalled a total of 9.6 million Sony li-ion batteries after evidence that, ThinkPad Z60t, ThinkPad Z61t, 40Y6793, FRU 92P1125, IBM ThinkPad R51 Battery, IBM ThinkPad R52 Battery, IBM ThinkPad R60 Battery,FRU 92P1121 in certain circumstances, the battery could overheat and catch fire.

Sony officials said at the time that the problems were caused by microscopic metal particles that mistakenly got inside the laptop battery, causing short-circuiting.

Asus Warns of Exploding non-certified Eee PC batteries

Asustek Computer has cautioned consumers against using third-party batteries with its Asus Eee PCs, and warns that it will not cover hardware damage due to the use of a non-certified battery under warranty. This follows a recent,IBM ThinkPad R60 Battery, unsubstantiated, report that a third-party battery exploded in China.

Second- and third-tier battery makers in China have begun to manufacture batteries designed to be used with the Asus Eee PC.40Y6793, Some vendors are offering batteries with capacities up to 10400 mAh, which can support up to 5.5 hours of usage, priced around $80, according to channel vendors.

Both will wear down your notebook battery over time; the trick is to minimize their impact while still getting the performance out of your laptop battery that you need.

The most important thing to understand about laptop batteries is that they are always losing a small bit of their charge. The hotter the temperature, the faster notebook batteries loose their charge. So rule number one is:ThinkPad Z60t, ThinkPad Z61t, 40Y6793, FRU 92P1125, FRU 92P1121 keep your notebook battery cool. Notebook battery manufacturers store their products at around 60F.

The second most important thing to understand about notebook batteries is that their capacity decreases,FRU 92P1125, By itself, this is not surprising – but when combined with the previous point, it leads to a surprising conclusion.

When laptop users but leave the computer plugged into the wall, the laptop battery is going through a constant charge-discharge cycle. IBM ThinkPad R52 BatteryThe notebook battery is sitting unused inside the notebook, discharging a little faster than heat. Once its charge level drops to a predetermined level, the AC adapter provides extra juice to “top off” the notebook battery. As the laptop battery gets older, it tends to self-discharge a little faster, which accelerates the process even further…

Lithium ion notebook batteries normally offer 600 to 800 charge/discharge cycles over 1.5 to 3 years of useful life. FRU 92P1121, When you use your notebook battery as described above, you are needlessly using your supply of recharges.

However, reports claim that one of these “high-capacity” notebook batteries recently overheated during charging, and eventually exploded causing damage to the Asus Eee PC. According to the reports, Asustek has refused to repair the PC, but Asustek has denied knowledge of the damage,ThinkPad Z60t, ThinkPad Z61t, 40Y6793, FRU 92P1125, FRU 92P1121 while stressing that in such an event, IBM ThinkPad R51 Battery, IBM ThinkPad R52 Battery, IBM ThinkPad R60 Battery, any needed repairs that were the result of using non-certified laptop batteries would not be covered by the company’s warranty.

The China-based vendor said to have sold the 10400 mAh laptop battery has also refuted that its product caused the damage.IBM ThinkPad R51 Battery, The company commented that its batteries are in increasingly high demand, and as such rival companies have started the rumor in order to hurt its sales.

Gateway NX100X Best Budget Ultra Portable Design

The Gateway NX100X is well known for its very low price for such a lightweight laptop,Fujitsu FPCBP80 Battery, Fujitsu FPCBP77 Battery, Fujitsu FPCBP68 Battery, this NX100X is extremely portable and has a very sleek design of 12.1 inches wide and 12.1 inches of display and of course do include a 5 in 1 media card reader. Fujitsu Laptop Battery FPCBP80, FPCBP77, FPCBP68, FPCBP63, FPCBP95 If you are either a home user or a business user and seeking for an inexpensive and ultra portable notebook, then it is very pleasing to see the well beautifully designed Gateway NX100X. The NX100X is built with minimalism feature. One point to be noted with the built of the NX100X is that it has forgone the built in optical drive which is to reduce the higher price tempted on it.

The Gateway NX100X is said to be the Best budget ultra portable design, FPCBP68,as with its cheaper price which is built mainly for the basic home and home based business user’s use, and the NX100X is with sleek black case, brushed aluminum details and with the dark blue status lights. In order to reduce its pricing problem and the sizing problem the NX100X tends to lack two or more important features and hardware follows as the built in optical drive, few multi media controls and of course some of the built in business level security features. But this has succeeded in its best budget and ultra portable design. This notebook is priced many hundreds of dollars less than that of those fully loaded models.

The NX100X do have a 1.2GHz Intel Core Solo ultra low voltage processor which is supported with a 512MB of 533MHz RAM, an 80GB hard drive spinning at 5,400 RPM, and integrated Intel graphics with 128MB of system memory.Fujitsu Laptop Battery FPCBP80, FPCBP77, Fujitsu FPCBP77 Battery, FPCBP68, FPCBP63, FPCBP95 The NX100X’s do possess only a single-core processor to afford its price.

But with these the NX100X produces the images crisp, the text looked slightly blurred, and the display look as if to be fairly bright.

Then with the keyboard as the screen is bigger keyboard spaced to be better roomed. The typing with this notepad keyboard is not much comfy as it is built with the shallow travel of keys. It is built up with regular but small sized touch pads, mouse buttons. The NX100X comes with only one single power button above the keyboard. Next with the ports and slots of the NX100X considered, Fujitsu FPCBP80 Battery, Fujitsu FPCBP77 Battery, Fujitsu FPCBP68 Battery, there are 4 pin Firewird,Fujitsu Laptop Battery FPCBP80, FPCBP77, FPCBP68, FPCBP63, FPCBP95 and 2 nearly placed USB 2.0 ports and a headphone and a microphone jacks. There is a Type II PC card reader but no Express cards.

When talking on the Networking connections,Fujitsu FPCBP68 Battery, the NX100X do comprise of the modem,FPCBP95 , Gigabit Ethernet card, and 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi with the optional Bluetooth. Using the USB port the external DVD burner could be attached if you afford one for your must purpose. But when apropos the business level security the NX100X do lack the Finger print reader and a trusted platform module. The battery life of the NX100X is merely of average with 3 hours and 6 minutes with its 3 cell battery. When your usage of the built-in optical drive is less, then the economical choice would be, Gateway NX100X

Apple legal anger management

You know, it's a good thing that Apple is a beloved, Apple Laptop Battery cult-like company that makes awesome products that everyone covets, or else people might start to get the idea that the company's legal department is kind of mean. Three moves this week of interest in this arena:

Starting on a positive note, the NDA restrictions on the iPhone SDK have been dropped in regards to applications that have been accepted and released onto the App Store. This means that all those "How to write iPhone apps and get filthy rich"Apple PowerBook G4 Battery, Apple PowerBook G4 15inch Battery books and magazine articles that have been held in reserve to this point ought to be hitting the shelves any day now. Note that this only applies to apps that are selling on the store, so if yours gets rejected, you're still not supposed to complain in public.

The National Music Publishers' Association aiming to increase artists' per-song download royalty from 9 to 15 cents, and Apple is threatening to shut down the iTunes store altogether if this happens. Nobody know exactly how much Apple makes on the iTunes store -- I've actually heard whispers that it's in fact a loss leader designed to sell iPods and iPhones -- but a 6-cent drop in revenue on a 99-cent purchase does seem like it would eat into what must be fairly narrow margins. Most people think this is an idle threat, though.

Oh, and the Apple-Psystar war still rages, with Apple's saying that Psystar's antitrust claims "ignor[e] fundamental principles of antitrust law, and the realities of the marketplace." Ouch.

Apple, Google, and Google Voice: It gets weird

Your faithful blogger has been studiously ignoring this month's slow-mo kerfuffle over Apple's failure to approve the Google Voice app for the App Store. This is because I'm becoming bored with App Store kerfuffles generally, as it continues to strike me as a very insular debate within a narrow community, laptop battery albeit one loudly represented in the tech press and blogosphere. In a nutshell (illustrated by various posts from Jon Gruber, who has been following it rather closely), the official Google-approved app that used Google's voice over IP service, was rejected from the App Store; first Gruber's sources told him that AT&T made this call, but then Apple told the FCC that the decision was theirs alone. (Gruber also explains how he and his source made the initial mistake, in an interesting game of Telephone.) Problem solved, right? Well, except for the BBC trumpeting the fact that AT&T is also sort of claiming credit for the move.

As it happened, I was reading an item in the New Yorker's Talk of the Town column this morning about false confessions, which are more common than you might think. Generally, the way that these confessions come out is that the innocent individual is made to believe that not confessing will result in a fate even worse than the false confession; in the case discussed in the New Yorker item, Apple PowerBook G4 Battery, Apple PowerBook G4 15inch Batteryfour men whose connection to a murder was circumstantial at best were convinced by police that they would be successfully prosecuted and sentenced to death unless they pled guilty to the crime they didn't commit. So what would lead AT&T to, when pressed by the FTC, say essentially that they had put Apple up to it -- "AT&T and Apple agreed that Apple would not take affirmative steps to enable an iPhone to use AT&T's wireless service (including 2G, 3G and Wi-Fi) to make VoIP calls without first obtaining AT&T's consent" -- even though Apple is willing to take the heat?

Well, what about power? There's a lot of speculation about the power dynamic in the Apple-AT&T iPhone relationship, with most people admitting that Apple holds the upper hand. Perhaps AT&T wants to sort of imply, to the insiders following this thing, that it can put the smack down on Apple when it feels the need. It might sound kind of jerky to normal people, but as noted normal people are very much not following this story.

UPDATE: Apple PowerBook G4 Battery, There are some definite goofs on my part in this post, discussed here.

If there's one thing I've been trying to pound home about the frequent iPhone-on-Verizon rumor, it's this: it won't happen because the technology underlying Verizon's wireless network, CDMA, is incompatible with the iPhone. There's only been one version of each of the iPhone models made, and that's based on GSM, a rival wireless standard. GSM is used around the world, whereas CDMA is much less widely deployed. In order to sell a Verizon iPhone, Apple would have to build a new handset model, with a CDMA-capable chip, and would have to deal with CDMA-licensing issues to boot -- something the company has shown no inclination to do. The coming 4G networks will be backwards compatible with GSM, not CDMA, and CDMA has been publicly slagged by Apple as a dead end.

I touched on some of these issues this past summer when I discussed Apple's entry into the Chinese mobile phone network.Apple PowerBook G4 Battery, Apple PowerBook G4 15inch Battery Apple is partnering with China Unicom, not the much larger China Mobile, not least because China Unicom has a 3G network and China Mobile uses -- you guessed it -- CDMA (though it's a CDMA variant that's incompatible with Verizon or any other network). At the time I pegged this as more proof that the iPhone on Verizon is a pipe dream. Apple would go into China with the same phones it was selling everywhere else.

Except that turns out not to be true. The Chinese iPhones are GSM phones, all right -- but they lack Wi-Fi capabilities, which is a huge gap. This is because Apple wouldn't put China's WAPI authentication technology into the phone (WAPI not being a recognized standard, and a possible back door to government surveillance to boot). Apple PowerBook G4 15inch Battery, The AP story on the subject has China Unicom promising a resolution later this year; it will be interesting to see if the phones already have Wi-Fi-capable hardware, in which case once this tiff is resolved Wi-Fi can be activated with a simple software update. But if not -- if there really isn't any Wi-Fi capable hardware in the guts of the phones being sold in China -- then it seems that Apple is willing to make devices specialized for different markets, if the price is right.

Apple seeks U.S. ban on Nokia imports

Apple has raised the stakes in its escalating smartphone patent battle with Nokia,Acer Laptop Battery
filing a complaint on Friday with the U.S. International Trade Commission in a bid to block the importation of Nokia phones. The move is more of a nuisance than a threat, given Nokia's paltry share of the U.S. market.

The complaint notice, but no details, were filed on the ITC's Web site.

The new complaint is the latest in the legal chess game that Nokia started in October, when it filed a suit in U.S. District Court of Delaware, charging Apple with infringing 10 patents covering wireless data transfer, speech coding, security and encryption. Nokia alleges that all iPhone models infringe on these patents.

7 keys to the ultimate smartphone

After Nokia's yin, Apple yanged: the computer maker countersued in December,Acer BATCL50L Battery,Acer Aspire One Battery, alleging that Nokia smartphones were infringing on 13 Apple patents. Feb. 8 is the deadline for Nokia's response to that filing.

A Bloomberg story recorded Nokia's non-response to Apple's new ITC complaint: "Nokia will study the complaint when it is received and continue to defend itself vigorously," Nokia spokesman Mark Durrant said by text message Monday.laptop battery "However this does not alter the fact that Apple has failed to agree to appropriate terms for using Nokia technology and has been seeking a free ride on Nokia's innovation since it shipped the first iPhone in 2007.

Nokia's global share the Symbian-based phone market has been steadily eroding. Bloomberg cited Gartner data: Nokia's share globally fell to 39.3% from 42.3% of the market in the third quarter, mainly at the expense of Apple and Research in Motion, and more recently of phones based on the Android operating system. Though Nokia still has the dominant global market share for mobile phones, it has not come up with a big North American hit in the smaller but fast growing and lucrative market for higher-end smartphones.

The Delaware suits possibly could be put on hold if either company is successful in getting the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office to review the contested patents. Reuters reports that Nokia has successfully attacked mobile-related patents held by Qualcomm in the mid-2000s, and by InterDigital more recently. (On Monday, in an unrelated legal battle, Nokia announced that a U.K. court had ruled in its favor against the German patent licensing firm IPCom. The latter had tried to charge Nokia for using the patents, but the court ruled the claims were unreasonable. IPCom said it will appeal.)

The Reuters story notes that Nokia has cross-licensing agreements with 40 companies, including all the top cell phone makers except Apple.

Nick Farrel, writer with The Inquirer.net, Acer BATCL50L Battery,Acer Aspire One Battery, probably spoke for many when he wrapped up his recent summary of the patent warfare with this conclusion: "What the mobile phone industry is waiting for is for Apple and Nokia to come up with an agreement to cross-license each other's technology, Acer Aspire One Battery, stop arguing and just get on with it."

Apple COO blasts netbook concept

Netbooks run counter to the general trend of progressively larger and more powerful computers, but they are nonetheless gaining popularity. And why not? They're cheap--and for ordinary people who don't need to run power applications, more than adequate for day-to-day use. And in today's economy, cheap is good.

But last week, Apple's COO Tim Cook disputed my theory of netbooks gaining market share, calling them "junky" and unusable. I'm not surprised. Apple's philosophy runs completely counter to the netbook trend. "Inexpensive notebook" is not something we usually associate with Apple. But Cook went a little overboard when he said "It's a stretch to call them a personal computer." Of course, the netbook is a personal computer, and a good one, at that. But Cook suggested that people who want to use a computer to surf the web or check email should buy an iPhone instead. What Cook doesn't realize is that people who buy netbooks are interested in saving money--not in spending a fortune every month for an iPhone contract.

It seems to me that Apple is being so quick to criticize the netbook because they feel threatened. The continuing evolution of the netbook is going to bring more power and more portability--and maybe even telephony--and that's going to eat into Apple's low end. Interesting to note also that for 2Q, Apple's overall PC shipments fell slightly, with lower-end Apple laptops representing the largest gain. Shouldn't that tell Apple something? Sure, people may want Apples, but they don't want to pay big money for them. Apple should pay attention to the netbook trend instead of dismissing it so vigorously.

Apple is in talks with HarperCollins Publishers about offering e-books for the upcoming Apple tablet device, a news report said late Monday.

Details haven't been finalized but the publisher is expected to offer the e-books with "added features" and to determine their prices itself, The Wall Street Journal said in the report,Acer BATCL50L Battery,Acer Aspire One Battery, citing unnamed sources. Apple would take a cut from the sales, it said.

Apple has also met with other publishers,Acer BATCL50L Battery but it was unknown if Apple would open a new online store for the books or sell them through iTunes, the report said.

Apple has invited reporters to an event in San Francisco on Jan. 27. The company reportedly plans to use the event to unveil a much-hyped but still unconfirmed tablet-style device that could blend e-book, Web-surfing and other multimedia functions.

HarperCollins recently said e-books could sell for higher prices if loaded with extra features like social-networking applications, video or author interviews, according to the report. The publisher's talks with Apple could pose a challenge to Amazon.com, currently the biggest player in the e-book market. Amazon sells e-books for viewing on its popular Kindle e-reader.

Two great rumors that go great together

Here's an interesting story from the Financial Times that nicely wraps up two different rumors bouncing around the Apple blog space lately. The first is that venerable totem, the Apple tablet; the second is a new contender for "Apple rumor most likely to irritate Inside The Cult blogger Josh Fruhlinger,"Acer Laptop Battery
some kind of Apple subscription TV service. Supposedly several networks are being wooed for the latter, including CBS (which owns the CW) and Disney (which owns ABC, ESPN, and a number of cable stations). Conspicuously absent is NBC, newly acquired by Cablevision, whose very existence is threatened by the idea of an over-the-Internet TV delivery medium.

The link between the two is supplied by Morgan Stanley analyst Kathryn Huberty: "The driver behind it [the tablet] will be content." The idea is that people will have to be talked into buying this tablet doodad, because it will be expensive (or will perhaps be subsidized by an expensive monthly wireless bill), and it won't actually be very good at being a computer (too small, no keyboard) or a phone (too big), so Apple will have to have a bunch of cool stuff for it out of the gate. Like TV shows, that you can subscribe to! And watch on the crystal clear, uh, 10-inch screen!

Here's the problem with the idea of watching TV on a tablet: the whole trend in American home video has been the big screen. You can't walk into Best Buy without being assaulted by an array of enormous flatscreens. Acer BTP-550P Battery, Acer BTP-73E1 Battery, Why would someone who's gotten used to watching TV on the 50-inch set in their living room switch to watching on a 10-inch tablet in their lap in the den? Is it really so inconvenient to walk from one room to the other? What upsurge there's been in watching on really small screens, like the iPod Touch and iPhone, can be credited entirely to the convenience of the latter. When I get on a bus tomorrow to go to New York for Christmas, I'll be watching downloaded TV shows on my phone -- not because the screen is great, but because I can fit the phone in my pocket. A tablet doesn't have that sort of portability.

Now, other rumors about this TV service have it hooking in to anywhere you have iTunes -- especially Apple TV,laptop battery which is already positioned in the living room (though not in many living rooms). I just don't see it as a selling point for a tablet.

Pundits already covering their behinds over Apple Tablet success

Tech punditry seems to be a remarkably consequence-free career. John Gruber may regularly serve up claim chowder in the wake of major Apple announcements, but few writers ever seem to suffer major blows to their reputation when they wildly mispredict the future course of events.

Nevertheless, it seems that some writers do have a conscience on this issue. For instance, it obviously nags at TechCrunch's MG Siegler that he dismissed the iPhone before it even arrived in 2007; he gave the world the Christmas present of extended apologia for this error, combined with a glowing assessment of the coming Apple Tablet, in an attempt to not make the same mistake twice.

BusinessWeek's Arik Hesseldahl has been scouring the vaults and has found quite a few instances of those who refused to acknowledge the iPhone's greatness in advance of its arrival. He too takes the lesson that the coming Tablet, mysterious as its appeal might be to us in these pre-Tablet days, should be treated with reverence and respect, because it's going to do something totally awesome that we can't even visualize yet.

I didn't have an Apple blog in 2007,Acer BTP-550P Battery, Acer BTP-73E1 Battery, so you're just going to have to take me at my word when I tell you that I was pretty sure that the iPhone was going to be a monster hit. My thinking was that Apple would take something that already had a niche in most people's lives -- a cell phone -- and it make much, much better. Acer BTP-73E1 Battery, I stand on this solid track record when I tell you that I don't think the Apple Tablet will change the world in this way, simply because it has the much more ambitious task of creating a niche that doesn't quite exist as of yet. (For a perfectly good product will a similar dilemma, see the Apple TV.) I may be an Apple fanboy, but I certainly don't think the company is immune to failure; Forbes conveniently collected the instances when Apple failed, for your edification.

If by the end of next year the Apple Tablet has changed the way we all think about tablet computing, you may feel free to dig up this particular piece of claim chowder and feed it to me. I don't necessarily think such a product will be a terrible flop; I just doubt that it'll be a monster hit. The problem is that it's already a monster hit before it's arrived; anything short of that lead-in will backlash onto the company, and hard.

So if the second biggest question about the Apple tablet, as I posited Wednesday, is how it will wirelessly connect, then the answer that's brewing may be interesting. According to rumors picked up by Fox News, Apple is still, just a week before the roll-out, in negotiations with both AT&T and Verizon, and may be planning on offering two versions of the tablet, one for each network.

This is certainly a departure from the iPhone sales model, which has AT&T as an exclusive U.S. carrier -- but then, that model hasn't been without its kinks for Apple. The advantages are fairly clear: there only needs to be one model of the iPhone (which, coincidentally, is the model sold outside the U.S.), and presumably Apple extracted concessions out of AT&T in return for the exclusive partnerships. The reasons Apple might for its next product aim to spread itself around are equally clear: there are a number of people dissatisfied with AT&T's service,Acer BTP-550P Battery, Acer BTP-73E1 Battery, and Verizon's data network has a good reputation.

Here's another good reason to offer it on both networks, though: one of the biggest barriers for buying this gadget will be the cost, not just of the tablet itself, but of the monthly charge for a wireless data plan. If customers can bundle the package with an existing wireless plan,Acer BTP-550P Battery, adding it as just another line item on the phone bill they already get from AT&T or Verizon, then that makes it a little easier to swallow. It's great to dip into Verizon's customer base in this way, but Apple would also want to keep a hold on AT&T's customers, who include the hard-core Apple lovers who have the iPhone already.

And speaking of costs, it seems that some people are beginning to think that $700 might be a wee bit pricey for this thing! To this I say: duh. But even if this outrageous price comes in as rumored, it's worth remembering how expensive iPhones were when they launched. Perhaps Apple is following the same model of extracting all the money they can from the early adopters, then dropping the cost to a more reasonable one later.
